Double major programs can be opened between all programs that offer undergraduate diplomas. Students who are successful in the double major program are awarded two separate diplomas for the two majors. In this way, students can study in two major programs at the same time. Double major programs can be conducted between undergraduate programs in different units as well as between undergraduate programs in the same unit.

Application Place and Process:

Students can apply to the second major diploma program at the beginning of the third semester of the major diploma program at the earliest and the fifth semester at the latest. Applications for double major programs are handled by the Registrar's Office.

Evaluation Process:

In order to apply for a double major program, the GPA must be at least 3.00. In order to apply to the double major diploma program, the student must successfully complete all the courses taken in the major diploma program until the semester of application. (Success is not required for the courses taken from the upper semesters.)

Finalization and Notification:

Students whose application criteria are suitable for the double major program and whose applications are approved by the Unit Administrative Board are announced in the announcements section of our university's web page that they are accepted to the program.

Application and Admission Requirements:

Double Major

Students cannot enrol in more than one Double Major Program at the same time. However, the student may enrol in a Minor Program in addition to the Double Major.
Students can apply to the Double Major Diploma Program at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest in the Major Undergraduate Diploma Program, at the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programs, at the beginning of the seventh semester in five-year programs, at the beginning of the ninth semester in six-year programs, at the beginning of the second semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the third semester at the latest in the Major Associate Degree Program.
At the time of application, the student's overall academic success grade point average in the Major Program is above 4.00;

Social Sciences and Humanities Basic Fields 3.25

3.25 in Basic Fields of Science and Engineering Sciences

3.25 in Basic Fields of Health Sciences

Students who want to apply to different fields must have a GPA of 3.50.

They must be in the top 20% in terms of success ranking in the Major Program.
For applications to programs such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Architecture and Teaching, the student must meet the success ranking requirement in the ÖSYM Guide of the relevant year.

 

Minor

The student must have successfully completed all credit courses in the Major Program until the semester of application.
Students can apply to the Minor Diploma Program at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest in the Major Undergraduate Diploma Program, at the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programs, at the beginning of the seventh semester in five-year programs, at the beginning of the ninth semester in six-year programs, at the beginning of the second semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the third semester at the latest in the Major Associate Degree Program.
At the time of application, the student's overall academic grade point average in the Major Program must be at least 2.75 out of 4.00.
