Minor Programme

Minor programs are certificate-oriented education and training programs that enable a student who is successfully completing his/her undergraduate education to receive limited education in order to gain knowledge in a second undergraduate program at the same time. Minor programs can be carried out between undergraduate programs in different units as well as between undergraduate programs in the same unit.

Application Place and Process:

Students can apply to the minor program at the beginning of the third semester of the major undergraduate program at the earliest and the sixth semester at the latest. The Department of Student Affairs conducts the minor program applications.

Evaluation Process:

Students who have successfully completed all credit courses in the undergraduate program until the semester they apply to the minor program can apply (success is not required for the courses taken from the upper semesters). The student's GPA in the major program must be at least 2.75 at the time of application.

Finalization and Notification:

Students whose application criteria are suitable for the minor program and whose applications are approved by the faculty board of directors are announced as accepted to the program from the announcements section of our university web page www.marmara.edu.tr.

Application and Admission Requirements:

Double Major

Students cannot enrol in more than one Double Major Program at the same time. However, the student may enrol in a Minor Program besides the Double Major.
Students can apply to the Double Major Diploma Program at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest in the Major Undergraduate Diploma Program, at the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programs, at the beginning of the seventh semester in five-year programs, at the beginning of the ninth semester in six-year programs, at the beginning of the second semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the third semester at the latest in the Major Associate Degree Program.
At the time of application, the student's overall academic success grade point average in the Major Program is above 4.00;

Social Sciences and Humanities Basic Fields 3.25

3.25 in Basic Fields of Science and Engineering Sciences

3.25 in Basic Fields of Health Sciences

Students who want to apply to different fields must have a GPA of 3.50.

They must be in the top 20% in terms of success ranking in the Major Program.
For applications to programs such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Architecture and Teaching, the student must meet the success ranking requirement in the ÖSYM Guide of the relevant year.

 

Minor 

The student must have successfully completed all credit courses in the Major Program until the semester of application.
Students can apply to the Minor Program at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest in the Major Undergraduate Program, at the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programs, at the beginning of the seventh semester in five-year programs, at the beginning of the ninth semester in six-year programs, at the beginning of the second semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the third semester at the latest in the Major Associate Degree Program.
At the time of application, the student's overall academic grade point average in the Major Program must be at least 2.75 out of 4.00.
